Why Obama Wants to Bomb Syria

Hint: Because He Is Owned by the Saudis

If you can remember the 2008 democratic primaries, Hillary Clinton was supposed to become the inevitable nominee. She had all kinds of money bankrolled for her. What most people don’t realize is that her friends gave away tens of millions of dollars of consulting contracts to other friends. So, she didn’t have the money to knock out Obama on "Super Tuesday." Further, Obama was getting millions and millions of dollars in campaign money over the internet. And a great deal of that Obama 2008 money from Saudis and Iranians, as Maureen Dowd found out and published – after Obama had the nomination locked up.

Obama was so grateful to the Saudis that when he finally met the Saudi King in April of 2008, he bowed to the monach from the waist! Footage of Obama bowing to Saudi King in April, 2009

This background has a lot to do with the present Syrian battle between Assad’s regime and the groups of rebels (funded from other Arab states) that are trying to topple him.

Ralph Peters on bombing Syria as of May 2, 2013: It’s too late to help those in Syria who want democracy.
We didn’t help when we could, and the USA handed off the job of helping Assad’s opposition to the Saudis (see the link below) and the Gulf Arabs, who themselves don’t want democracy anywhere near them. The Gulf Arabs never liked the cold war, never liked the idea of having to line up behind Washington or Moscow, and don’t like the fact that Syria remains to this day a client state of Russia. They would like to have the USA embarrass Russia by bombing Assad and his troops. Here’s a who’s who of backers of Syria and backers of the rebels, as of May, 2013 by Ralph Peters:

Because the Saudi’s gave so much money to the Obama campaign in 2008, they want the US to stab Assad with a deep, potentially fatal bombing campaign. Obama knows he owes them. He also knows it is deathly politically unpopular in the United States.

So he has left it up to Congress decide. Either Congress will allow us to side with the Islamic extremists and terrorists, or they will deny Obama a bombing campaign, and Obama can tell his Saudi backers, "Look how hard I tried!"

Four months further down the blundering path, Peters NOW calls a bombing raid against Assad "the most phenomenally stupid misuse of our military I’ve seen…" at
