Coming -- Better Wind Power

Forbes magazine is reporting on a new design for wind power that does not involve turbines or blades.  It is much cheaper to maintain and can be down-sized to the order of the electrical needs of an individual house.  Though not an engineer, I think this approach is sound and should be pursued:
