Common Sense about Iraq

The Associated Press is monitoring websites associated with the Syrian/Iraqi caliphate and reporting on the destruction of mosques in Mosul.  Here’s a comment to that report as repeated by Yahoo!.  The comment was made by “Andy Rock Skipper” and follow-on comments to Andy’s comment are included.

Iraq is America's "old car". We keep trying to fix it, but when is enough, enough? We busted our economy, lost a lot of good American kids, so do we say our troops died for nothing in Iraq and walk away, or do we throw more money and another generation of our kids at the problems in Iraq, continually trying to fix the mess that had nothing to do with 9-11 to start with. Perhaps it is time to back a Kurdish homeland where most of the oil is, and take the oil money out of the hands of whatever mob ends up leading the smaller Iraq.

It was our "old car" from the moment George Bush invaded. A lot of people saw this coming from before the invasion itself, but only George had the title of Commander in Chief to order an invasion.
