Decency versus Resentment

From the Blog Author

I teach my "urban coyote" seminars to reaffirm two opinions that are also truths: 1) Human decency actually exists yet 2) Resentment is the dominant religion of modern America. Unfortunately, my side is losing popularity in the face of modern, publicly funded moral relativism. See this link – the most important story I’ve read in several years:

Central to the problem is that moral relativism MAKES RESENTMENT SEEM RESPECTABLE.  The resentful person, when told of his resentments, gaffs it off as a mere opinion of another person rather than a fact that should be respected.  But actual resentment, which is common, is never respectable -- see Solomon's book "The Passions” and its brilliant entry on resentment.
