Mice Protein May Restore Youth?

There is a protein in mice blood that gets rarer as the mice age.  It is called osteopontin.  Replacing it in ageing mice seems to make them act younger.  Is this a path to a fountain of youth for human beings in the twenty-first century?  German research continues into this approach.  The UK Daily Mail has these details:
