Dan Ackerman at C/Net has an interesting article in which he
gushes about the advantages of Amazon.com’s new voice recognition product,
“Echo.” Amazon has a digitial personal
assistant named “Alexa” which uses a wireless speaker connected to the internet
called “Echo.”
Available for general purchase since June of 2015, Alexa
understands what Ackerman is saying at least 80 percent of the time. It can control many of the at-home smart
devices. It can call up music from the
cloud, such as an Amazon Prime library.
Ackerman prefers Alexa and the Echo speaker to Apple’s Siri,
“OK Google,” Microsoft Windows’ Cortana and the Xbox One Kinect camera and its
microphone.
